According to reports, all this was done at the behest of the President of Belarus. According to media reports, a MIG-29 fighter jet was sent from Belarus to forcibly divert the flight.

The decision to cancel flights

Western nations have strongly condemned Belarus’ actions. European countries have called the operation a “terrorist” incident. Roman Protsevich, a 26-year-old journalist, was on a Ryanair passenger plane heading to Lithuania. But Belarus forcibly diverted the flight to the capital, Minsk. Journalist arrested. In the end, the plane reached its destination Lithuania with a delay of six hours.
