Life is back on track as corona infection rate declines in Pakistan, lockdown intensifies in Bangladesh

New Delhi. While the situation in the country has worsened due to increasing cases of corona infection, the crisis due to corona continues in neighboring countries. However, the situation is slowly improving a bit.

As the situation in Pakistan improves, schools and colleges are starting to appear, and businesses are also slowly being seen. According to the health ministry, the national positivity ratio stood at 9.9 per cent, the lowest since March.

More than 20,000 people have died in Pakistan so far

According to the DPA news agency, 62,061 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, of which only 3,084 tested positive. So far 900,522 cases have been reported in Pakistan and 20,251 deaths have been reported. Most of these deaths occurred during the ongoing Third Wave, as most of these new patients fell victim to variables previously seen in Britain.

Meanwhile, in view of the declining number of infections, the administration here has decided to relax the controls related to coronavirus. The National Command and rations Operations Center (NCOCO), the country’s apex body working with Covid-19, is being allowed to reopen markets, businesses and educational institutions in districts where the Covid-19 transition ratio is less than 5 per cent from Monday.

Bangladesh escalates lockdown

Neighboring Bangladesh has extended the lockdown already in place till May 30 to curb the rising number of cases of corona. However, restrictions on transportation have been eased to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, which was suspended last month.

The decision was announced by Bangladesh’s cabinet department in a circular on Sunday, according to Xinhua news agency. According to a recent circular, the government had decided to resume public transport services from midnight on Sunday on condition of complying with health regulations.

To combat further spread of the virus, Bangladesh announced an eight-day strict lockdown between April 14 and April 21, which was later extended to May 23 in phases. Hotel and rest restaurant rents are also excluded from the scope of the ban. The ban was relaxed in recent days after new cases and signs of declining deaths.

The covid mortality rate in Bangladesh is 1.57 percent

On Saturday, the country’s health directorate of health services (DGHS) reported 1,028 new cases and 38 new deaths, bringing the total number of infections to 787,726 and the death toll to 12,348.
According to official figures, the covid mortality rate in Bangladesh is 1.57 per cent and the current recovery rate is 92.65 per cent.
