The colors associated with Island County government’s online presence are up for debate. In the next couple of weeks, Island County commissioners are expected to review and choose a color scheme for the new, upgraded www.islandcounty.net.

Commissioners have generally agreed upon the functionality of the website, and the logo will stay the same, but the color scheme has yet to be decided, according to Information Technology Director John Kent.

Kent said that once the design phase is complete, the county will be seeking individuals to come into the county offices, try out the website in beta form and give feedback.

In the meantime, those interested are encouraged to review the different color schemes below and vote in the Whidbey Daily News Poll in the right sidebar, or scroll down if on a mobile device.

  1. In a department which could save hundreds of thousands per year by moving towards open source software, changing the color scheme seems a bit unimportant. Libre alone would save a significant amount of money for licensing. It would be nice to see more time spent on cost cutting measures than on appearance. The same could be said for so many things locally.
