Washington State Representative Rick Larsen is hoping to get an earful from veterans throughout the Second Congressional District, including Oak Harbor.
Larsen is planning a series of six roundtable discussions with veterans to talk about veterans’ issues and concerns and how his office can help them gain access to available services.
A session is scheduled to be held in Oak Harbor at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7392 on Goldie Road. In addition to Larsen, representatives from the Seattle office of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, local veterans service providers and WorkSource will be there to provide additional information and answer questions.
For those who cannot attend the roundtable in Oak Harbor, there will be a session at American Legion Post 92 in Stanwood at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 and also at American Legion Post 91 in Burlington at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Other roundtables will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26 in Friday Harbor; Thursday, Aug. 27 in Bellingham; and Saturday, Aug. 29 in Mountlake Terrace.
VFW Post 7392 is located at 3037 Goldie Road, Oak Harbor.
